Recruitment Rundown
Wallace was one of the first prospects among those who will sign with the Irish to jump onboard, only Jacob Lacey committed sooner than Wallace, who gave his pledge after a January visit to South Bend. Lyght’s ability as a coach and history being a player at Notre Dame and in the NFL made huge impressions on Wallace even before he visited South Bend and meeting Brian Kelly during that trip boosted the Irish even higher, but it was the academics that pushed him over. Penn State and Duke were among the other top contenders for Wallace, who also had offers from Auburn, Nebraska, Stanford, Tennessee and Wisconsin among others.

Head Coach Mike Muschamp
“First and foremost, I think he’s just a naturally gifted athlete. That shows up on film. I think he’s got a great competitive nature about him and that makes that athleticism that much more attractive to a coaching staff.”

ISD expert Jamie Uyeyama
Wallace is someone who I think can compete early for time in his career because of his versatility. He may be someone who gets involved in the nickel conversation right away and in the long term I can see him there, the boundary, or playing safety for the Irish.

I was a big fan of his when he committed and remain that way with him getting read to officially sign with Notre Dame. He has quick feet, good instincts, and is a strong tackler. That checks a lot of boxes for me and I think Irish fans are going to enjoy watching him over the next four years.

Favorite quote to ISD
“Sometimes it’s hard to believe, not the aspect of me being on the field, but everything going on. It’s starting to hit me that I’m really going to college next year, but I’m excited. I’m really excited. Last night, when we were on the sidelines, I really want to strap up and play big boy football.”
