2021 East Lansing (Mich.) receiver Andrel Anthony Jr.‍ narrowed his recruitment on Friday to 10 schools.

The four-star prospect will focus on Arkansas, Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Penn State, Purdue and West Virginia, but it also was relieved some stress for Anthony.

"It's kind of crazy, but it does feel like a relief in some ways," Anthony stated. "There are schools that have said they are going to keep contacting me even though I posted my top 10."

Anthony holds 27 offers and admits things have been a little overwhelming over the last two months.

"I feel this quarantine has played a role and made it more stressful," explained Anthony. "The texts and FaceTime - it's all the coaches can do, so it's changed some stuff.

"You can't go on visits, so you have to work through it."

When it comes to Notre Dame, the Irish hosted Anthony three times in the fall for games, but contact dropped off following the season.

Notre Dame had two receiver commitments and Anthony saw his recruitment change with the Irish staff.

"They tried to recruit me as an athlete or cornerback when they had Deion Colzie committed," Anthony said. "When Deion decommitted, they started texting me a lot for receiver again.

"I really do like Notre Dame, but I want to play receiver in college."

Anthony has had positive dialogue about wanting to play receiver with the Notre Dame staff as of late, but that has allowed Michigan, Michigan State and Penn State to make a move.

"I've been talking to them every week from their staffs and seeing how I would fit into their offense," Anthony said about the other Midwest powers. "I was actually planning to take an official visit to Penn State, but it got canceled.

"I don't know when it's going to open back up, but I'm planning to make more visits when this is over."

The 6-foot-2, 178-pounder knows he'll fit into any offense as he's able to play multiple receiver positions.

"Schools have told me about how versatile I am and I could play the slot or outside," explained Anthony. "They said I can fit into any offense because I'm not isolated to one spot. I can be in the slot and go against a safety or be outside to go against a cornerback."

When it comes to a commitment, Anthony isn't in a rush to make a decision until he can get on some more visits to find the right fit.

"I don't know, honestly," said Anthony. "I'm just taking it day-by-day. I don't want to commit too early to a school I'm not 100 percent about and that's my biggest thing right now."
