It’s been a long time coming for Ryan Puglisi‍.

This weekend, Puglisi will get to check out Notre Dame for the first time when the 2024 Massachusetts quarterback travels to South Bend for Sunday’s Irish Invasion camp.

“I can't wait,” said Puglisi. “I'm fired up to go see the campus finally. It's always been a lifelong dream of mine, so to be able to go out there and throw for the coaches, it's going to be really fun.

“I'm just looking forward to getting out there and seeing it. I've heard a lot of good things about it and I'm just excited to see it.”

The 6-foot-3, 205-pounder transferred from Lawrence Academy to Avon Old Farms earlier this year. Prior to the move, Irish offensive coordinator Tommy Rees made a stop at Lawrence, where Puglisi was teammates with 2022 Notre Dame offensive line signee Ty Chan‍.

Puglisi and Rees have had the chance to communicate.

“I love the way Coach Rees goes about himself,” Puglisi said. “He's a good guy. He's laid back. Yeah, he's the offensive coordinator at Notre Dame, but he's an ordinary guy. He's very easy to talk to, which is really nice.”

Puglisi is excited about getting the chance to throw in front of Rees and the rest of the Irish staff on Sunday.

“I'm just looking forward to competing,” he said. “I want to show them I'm a competitor and I'm going to work hard for them, show why I'm a guy that they need to take. I'm just looking forward to showing my talent. I feel like I have a really strong arm, so I'm looking forward to demonstrating that.”

Puglisi has seen his recruitment go to a new level this offseason, picking up offers from Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Duke, Vanderbilt, Rutgers, Minnesota, Indiana, UConn and Akron.

“It's been a good time,” said Puglisi. “I'm trying not to let it stress me out, just letting everything fall into play.

“It's been a lot of work. It's been nothing but work at Avon, getting up before school every day. Most of my offers came before school because coaches would come watch me throw down at our field. It's been a lot of hard work, but it's definitely paying off as you can see, so I'm excited about it.”

He already had offers from Boston College, Ole Miss, Temple and UMass and with interest from schools like Georgia, Penn State and Michigan, he knows more could be coming once the camp circuit gets going.

“It'll be a big summer, but I'm looking forward to it.”
