Jamier Brown‍ took in his first Notre Dame game on Saturday and the talented 2027 Ohio athlete left impressed.

“It went great,” the Wayne High School standout told Irish Sports Daily afterward. “It was a good experience. I got to talk to the coaches and they won the game.”

Brown was able to speak with Mike Mickens and Marcus Freeman, who also attended Wayne High School in Dayton, as well as receivers coach Mike Brown and some other recruiting staffers.

“(Freeman) was just asking about my season and just telling me just to keep up what I'm doing for the rest of the season,” Brown explained.

Freeman and Mickens have used their common experiences to create a tremendous early bond with the 6-foot-1, 170-pound Brown.

“I kind of see them like older brothers I would say,” Brown said. “They don't treat me like I'm young. They treat me like I'm older, I guess. It is really kind of normal when I talk to them. I can talk normally and freely.”

Brown could play a number of positions in college, but the Irish are recruiting him as a receiver.

He has a lengthy list of scholarship offers from schools like Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, Tennessee and Cincinnati among many others.

He enjoyed the Irish’s 28-3 win over Miami-Ohio.

“It was great,” he said. “There were a couple ups and downs, stuff they could fix, but either way they came out with the win and they stuck together. That's what I liked about them.

“The crowd was hype the whole game. They're great fans.”

Brown is planning a trip to Penn State next week and Ohio State later this fall.

He’s also hoping to return to South Bend.

“Just keep visiting as much as I can,” he said.

“I'm hoping (to be back this season), but if not, definitely next season.”
