This past weekend, Notre Dame’s commits in the classes of 2018 and 2019 were back in action.
5-star quarterback Phil Jurkovec led his teammates at Pine-Richland High School to a 43-6 victory over Penn Hills High School to improve their season record to 4-0 on the season. Jurkovec completed 16 of his 24 pass attempts for 160 yards and a touchdown and added 31 yards on the ground in the blowout win. Pine-Richland will host Bethel Park High School this Friday.
4-star safety Derrik Allen and his teammates at Lassiter High School improved to 4-0 on the season with their 37-14 win over Marietta High School. Allen made an impact on both sides of the ball for his team. Lassiter High School will be back in action this Friday to host South Forsyth High School.
4-star running back Markese Stepp was not available on Friday. Cathedral High School lost the game 31-7 over Ohio powerhouse St. Xavier.
The three 2018 4-star Notre Dame commits from St. Peter’s Prep, defensive lineman Justin Ademilola, defensive lineman Jayson Ademilola and linebacker Shayne Simon did not play this past weekend. St. Peter’s Prep will be in action this Saturday to take on Seton Hall Prep at home.
4-star linebacker Ovie Oghoufo and his teammates at Farmington Hill-Harrison High School were in action this past Friday and improved their record to 3-1 on the season with a 49-7 win over Seaholm High School. Oghoufo had an impact on both sides of the ball, racking up seven tackles to go along with four receptions for 53 yards and an amazing 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
3-star linebacker Matthew Bauer and his teammates at Cathedral Prep improved to 4-0 on the season with a convincing 62-28 win over Benedictine High School this past Friday. Bauer was dominating on the defensive side of the ball, racking up eight total tackles and 1.5 sacks. Cathedral Prep will be in action this Friday when they travel to take on General McLane High School.
4-star linebacker Jack Lamb is still sidelined with the knee injury he sustained in week one, but his team picked up its second win of the season this past Friday beating Serrano High School 21-18 on the road. Great Oak High School will be back in action this Friday when they take on Upland High School at home.
Due to the clean-up from Hurricane Irma, games for 4-star tight end George Takacs and 4-star wide receiver Kevin Austin Jr. were postponed. Takacs and his teammates at Gulf Coast High School will be back in action this Friday to take on Estero High School while Austin Jr. and his teammates at North Broward Prep will be in action this Friday to take on King’s Academy
3- star offensive lineman Cole Mabry and his team at Brentwood High School dropped their first game of the season to Ravenwood High School 31-23 this past Friday. Mabry and his offense produced two rushing touchdowns and one through the air. Brentwood will travel to face Nolensville High School this Friday.
3-star offensive lineman John Dirksen and his teammates at Marion Local High school stayed undefeated this past Friday, securing a 21-7 win over Minster High School. Dirksen and his team will be in action this Friday when they look to stay undefeated against Versailles High School.
3-star running back Jahmir Smith and his teammates at Lee County High School were in action this past Friday night when they dominated West Carteret High School 38-0 to improve their record to 5-0 on the season. The Yellow Jackets offense continues to excel led by Smith and the defense has played amazing recording their fourth shutout of the season. Lee County High School will be on a bye this coming week but will be back in action on the 29th to host Cummings High School.
3-star wide-receiver Micah Jones and his teammates at Warren Township High School improved their record to 3-1 this past Friday when they handled Lake Forest High School 36-7 on the road. The 6-foot-5 receiver had another breakout performance hauling in two touchdown passes in the win. Warren Township High School will travel to face Lake Zurich High School this coming Friday.
4-star defensive-tackle Ja'mion Franklin and his team at North Caroline High School improved their record to 3-0 this past Friday when they recorded their second shutout of the season, beating Cambridge-South Dorchester High School 42-0. Franklin leads a defense that has only let up six points in three games so far this season. North Caroline High School will be in action the Friday when the travel to face Queen Anne’s County High School.
4-star 2019 defensive-lineman Jacob Lacey and his teammates at South Warren High School recorded their first shutout win of the season this past Friday when they dominated Grayson County High School 49-0. Lacey held down the middle of the South Warren defense.
4-star 2019 quarterback Cade McNamara had a breakout performance this past Friday when he threw for 365 yards and two touchdowns on 23 completions in his team’s 34-3 win over Spanish Springs High School. McNamara and the rest of his teammates at Damonte Ranch are now 4-0 to start the season and will travel Friday to face McQueen High School in hopes to improve to 5-0.
