Notre Dame’s 2018 and 2019 commits were in action again over the weekend.
2018 5-star quarterback Phil Jurkovec and his teammates at Pine-Richland High School played Friday dn Jurkovec led his squad to a 56-7 blowout win over Peters Township to improve his team’s record to 7-0 on the year. The 6-foot-5 190-pounder was perfection in Friday’s contest completing all 14 of his pass attempts for 247 yards and three touchdowns. Jurkovec and his teammates will look to remain undefeated this Friday night when they take on Shaler Area High School on the road.
2018 4-star safety Derrik Allen and his teammates at Lassiter High School dropped their second straight game on Friday, to Roswell High School 36-30 in overtime. Lassiter is now 4-2 on the year. Allen, who is a two-way player for Lassiter, made an impact on the defensive side of the ball, but his performance was highlighted by an impressive snag on a two-point conversion that tied the game at the end of regulation. Allen and his teammates will look to bounce back this Friday night when they travel to face off against Woodstock High School.
The trio of 2018 commits from St. Peter’s Prep in New Jersey were also in action on Friday and led their team to a close 22-21 win over DePaul Catholic to improve to 4-1 on the season. 4-star linebacker Shayne Simon, who is a two-way starter, primarily made his presence on defense, tallying five solo tackles, two for a loss. 4-star defensive lineman Jayson Ademilola racked up seven total tackles, one for a loss. 4-star defensive end Justin Ademilola also made his presence on a strong defensive line. The trio and their teammates at St. Peters Prep will be back in action this Friday when they are set to take on Bergen Catholic on the road.
2018 4-star defensive lineman Ja'mion Franklin and his teammates played Friday as well. Franklin and his teammates remained undefeated, handling Easton High School 42-3 to improve to 6-0 on the year. Franklin helped his defense to another strong outing. North Caroline High School has allowed only 28 total points all season. Franklin and his teammates will look to stay undefeated this Friday when they host Kent County High School.
2018 4-star wide receiver Kevin Austin Jr. and his teammates at North Broward Prep played Friday night as well, improving to 5-1 on the season with a 41-19 win over LaSalle. The 6-foot-4 190-pounder found pay-dirt twice with a 46-yard touchdown catch and a 50-yard rush. Austin Jr. and his teammates will be back in action Friday to take on Key West on the road.
Also in action on Friday, were 2018 4-star linebacker Ovie Oghoufo and his teammates at Farmington Hills Harrison High School, who pulled out the win in rainy conditions beating Oak Hill High School 17-14 to improve to 5-2 on the season, just a win away from a playoff spot. They will look for that win this Friday when they are set to take on 1-6 Berkley High School on the road.
2018 4-star tight end George Takacs and his teammates at Gulf Coast High School dropped their first game of the season to Barron Collier 45-12 on Friday. Gulf Coast High School is 3-1 on the season and will be on a bye week this week, but will be back in action on Friday, Oct.20th to take on Palmetto Ridge High School.
3-star linebacker Matthew Bauer led his teammates at Cathedral Prep to a 33-23 victory over De La Salle Collegiate to improve to 7-0 on the year on Friday night. Cathedral will look to stay undefeated this Friday when they take on West Toronto Prep at home.
3-star running back Jahmir Smith and his teammates at Lee County High School were back in action and in front of some members of the Notre Dame coaching staff on Friday night, when they improved to 7-0 on the season. The Yellow Jackets rolled over Harnett Central 50-0 to secure their sixth shutout of the season. The future Irish back recorded another 100-plus yard night and tallied three touchdowns. Smith and his teammates will be back in action this Friday to take on Western Harnett High School.
On Saturday, 2018 4-star running back Markese Stepp and his teammates at Cathedral High School fell to 3-5 on the season with a 38-10 loss to St. Edward. They will look to bounce back against Center Grove this Friday at home.
Back to Friday action, 2018 3-star wide receiver Micah Jones and his teammates at Warren Township High School breezed by Waukegan High School, shutting them out 34-0. The 6-foot-5 205-pounder caught two passes for 19 yards. Warren Township High School is now 5-2 on the year and will look for their sixth win this Friday when they take on Zion-Benton High School.
2018 3-star offensive lineman Cole Mabry and his teammates at Brentwood High School improved to 7-1 on the season with a 42-21 win over Father Ryan High School on Friday night. After a bye week this week, Brentwood High School will be back in action Friday, Oct. 20th to take on Marshall County.
3-star offensive lineman John Dirksen and his teammates at Marion Local High School remained undefeated (7-0) with a 44-7 win over New Bremen High School on Friday. They will be back in action this Friday when they take on Fort Recovery High School at home.
4-star linebacker Jack Lamb is still out nursing a knee injury, but his teammates at Great Oak High School bounced back after two straight losses with a 31-14 win over Chaparral High School on Friday to improve their record to 3-3 on the season. Great Oak will look to improve to 4-3 on the season this Friday when they take on Temecula Valley High School at home.
2019 4-star defensive lineman Jacob Lacey and his teammates at South Warren High School fell to 7-1 on the season with a 31-17 loss to Ravenwood High School. South Warren will look to bounce back after a bye week against Bowling Green High School on Friday, Oct.20th.
2019 4-star quarterback Cade McNamara and his teammates at Damonte Ranch High School had a bye week this week and will be back in action this Friday to put their undefeated record on the line when they take on Douglas High School.
