The Final 2025 ISD Fab 50

Notre Dame just had its longest season ever, which meant there was a lot less time for me to dive into the final ISD Fab 50 for the 2025 recruiting class. I’m handing it in right at the buzzer with today being February signing day.

This wasn’t exactly a banner year for Notre Dame when it came to landing top-50 prospects. OT Will Black‍ (20th) is the only ND recruit to crack my list. LB Madden Faraimo‍ and TE James Flanigan‍ came close.

The last time I only had one Notre Dame recruit in the final Fab 50 was 2023 when Charles Jagusah was 49th. That ‘23 class is a perfect example of why classes shouldn’t be judged simply by how many top-50 prospects are in it, though. Jeremiyah Love just missed the cut for me that cycle. Drayk Bowen, Christian Gray, Jaiden Ausberry, Jaden Greathouse, and Adon Shuler were all players that I had as top-100 level prospects as well and they were key pieces in helping the Irish to a 14-2 record in only their second year in the program.

Still, it does feel noteworthy that Notre Dame only offered 16 of the 2025 Fab 50. That’s down from 31 each from the previous two Fab 50s. It might just be an outlier in Marcus Freeman’s third full recruiting cycle and Notre Dame is about to go through some changes with their recruiting and scouting department this offseason.

We’ll see where things are headed because one would think that more success on the field will open up more opportunities to land more of these types of prospects in the 2026 class and beyond.

The 2025 ISD Fab 50

- It’s unsurprising that Georgia (eight), Alabama (five), and Texas (four) lead the way with the most players on the list. Out of those eight who signed with Georgia, five are on the offensive or defensive line. LB Zayden Walker‍ (16th) is basically another Jalon Walker who can rush the passer as well.

Even when Georgia takes a dip like they did this season, they can still win the SEC because of the talent they have accumulated on both sides of line of scrimmage.

- There’s a handful of players I am higher on than the majority of the recruiting industry. I have Georgia edge Chase Linton‍ 21st. He’s in 247Sports’ top-50 (44th), but is outside the top-100 everywhere else.

Only one other site has LSU WR TaRon Francis‍ (41st) in their top-100. His film popped for me. I think he’s a potential gamebreaker. Maybe he’ll be the next Brian Thomas Jr. for LSU. I had him in the 2021 Fab 50 and no one else had him in their top-50.

Florida State DT Kevin Wynn‍ (48) is a top-100 recruit for 247 and on3. I’m the only one who has him in my top-50.

- I included eight offensive tackles on my list. This is the deepest the position has been since 2021 when I had seven. That included future Notre Dame OT Blake Fisher and that was the same class where they signed Joe Alt (he was a 4-star with a grade of 91 for me).

- It does stick out that two previously committed players are on the list: Deuce Knight‍ (33rd) and Ivan Taylor‍ (47th). I don’t put too much stock into an overall class ranking, but just adding those two players would have given Notre Dame the sixth ranked class in the country.

Two potential impact guys closes that much of a gap in those rankings.
