Rivals Top 100 Released

On Tuesday, Rivals released its updated Top 100 for the 2021 recruiting class.

Notre Dame is well-represented with commits and targets, so it's easy to see why the class could end up being special.

The Fighting Irish currently have the No. 1 ranked class in 2021 with seven commits.

Avon (Ind.) offensive lineman Blake Fisher is the highest rated Notre Dame commit and just missed being a five-star prospect.

All in all, I think the rankings for Notre Dame’s commits were pretty fair. I’m not there are six better quarterbacks than Tyler Buchner in the 2021 class, but he has another year to ascend.

I firmly believe if Pickerington Central (Ohio) used Lorenzo Styles Jr. more and got him in space, he would be a little higher. Coming in at No. 34 isn’t bad at all for the two-way standout, but he is often not used on offense for his high school, which likely changes next year.

Deion Colzie’s rise in the rankings is well deserved as he looked like a man against boys this fall and it’s a deep class for interior defensive line, so I’m not overly concerned about Gabriel Rubio’s ranking. If he was 10 spots higher great, but I’m not sure there is much of a difference there as Notre Dame is getting a quality player.

I was a little surprised tight end commit Cane Berrong‍ wasn’t included, but he’s a kid who loves a chip on his shoulder and this should be a nice one for him this winter.
