2021 ESPN 300 Released
The first ESPN 300 is out for the 2021 class and Notre Dame’s commitments are all over it as well as some top targets.
Hart County (Ga.) tight end Cane Berrong headlines the Irish commits as he checks in as the No. 21 player overall and the No. 1 tight end in the country. Berrong is also the No. 2 player in the state of Georgia behind quarterback Brock Vandagriff, who is committed to Oklahoma.
Quarterback Tyler Buchner continues to trend well on national rankings despite playing just four plays as a sophomore. The La Jolla (Calif.) native checks in as the No. 55 overall player and the No. 9 quarterback in the class. When it comes to state rankings, ESPN ranks Buchner as the No. 6 player in California.
Avon (Ind.) offensive lineman Blake Fisher debuts as the No. 1 player in Indiana and the No. 105 prospect in the country. I find it hard to believe there are 15 better offensive linemen in the country, but to each their own.
Defensive lineman Gabriel Rubio enters just inside the top 150 at No. 146. The St. Louis native is also ranked as the No. 3 player in the state and the No. 9 defensive tackle in the country.
IMG Academy (Fla.) offensive lineman Greg Crippen checked in at No. 273 overall, which also puts all five of Notre Dame 2021 commitments inside the ESPN 300. Crippen is also ranked as the No. 11 guard and the No. 43 player in the state of Florida.
